cranial nerves

does anyone experience tingling in their face...ear, anywhere else? Tingling at the top and/or back of my head when I do any "thinking" type activity

I get this sometimes when I'm watching tv, computer...walking in stores, etc. Drs. said its the cranial nerves. I also get a chill or throbbing feeling thru my body sometimes.

Oh my good god... I had no idea the odd tingling in my face had anything to do with my PCS. Come to think about it, I haven't had it in quite some time after having them quite often. Does anyone else have knowledge on this? Very curious. I'm thinking this could very well have to do with my injury...

I had this tingling in the head. I think it has to do with a pinched nerve in my neck. I got a neck injury along with my head injury and when the muscle finally healed it trapped the nerve in there as well. It only happens when I am lying down or tense my neck muscles really hard. Eventually I have to get around to working out the scar tissue in there...massage will definitely help!

If it is cranial nerves, it likely means you have inflammation in the upper neck. This same inflammation can cause slow blood flow through the vertebral arteries. Google cranial nerves. There are plenty of web site that describe what each cranial nerve does and where it originates.

the guy who does acupuncture on me just explained it to me...he said between his work and a physical therapist that he is going to refer me to...they should be able to help me

Mark...should I be taking advil for the inflammation??? Would that help?

I had extreme amounts of tension in my neck for a very long time. Oh do I wish I was able to do more research or get that piece of advice from you at the time.

I saw a chiropractor throughout my recovery. I didn't notice any relief.

iggle,

A chiropractor can help with the neck injuries that accompany a concussion. An Upper Cervical Chiropractor is a specialist in the C-1 Atlas to Cranium (skull) joint. Most chiros are not as well trained for the Atlas joint.

Many times, head aches are due to injuries to the upper neck. Also, inflammation in the upper neck can cause PCS like symptoms.

Keep in mind that there is a wild range of skills in the chiropractic profession. If one is not helping, it is sometimes worth trying another.

In my experience, one in 10 is a gifted physician. The rest are just fixing the easy problems and selling Wellness Therapy. Avoid any chiro who wants to schedule you out for more than two or maybe three weeks. Some are just after your money or insurance payments.

I went to a non-forceful/craniotherapy chiro yesterday (not many of these around): http://www.nonforce.com/referrals/southwest.html

I went to Dr. Lerner-Ramirez Barbara (925)256-1211 1280 Boulevard Way # 207 Walnut Creek

First time someone has really tried to heal me since the TBI 8.5 months ago. That 5th cranial nerve is feeling better- there's mild pain in the head & roof of the mouth... Praise. God.

I figured it was worth doing something.

Thanks for the advice Mark. I'll keep that in mind about possibly stopping for a while after my followup on Mon.
