I just discovered that my blueberry beer (wild blue) that I like has 260 calories in one beer......
very sad...
just for the record and a reminder:

guiness= 165 a pint
beamish= 195 a pint
world wide stout dog fish head= 372-12 oz
wild blue= 260 -12 oz

2 ounces of gin plus diet coke = 128 calories and 0 carbs

Bizi,

I need to give up the beer and booze next cause of the calories. I hurt all over to walk today but pledge to eat healthy.

I am working on eating healthy for both my weight loss and diabetes.

But I am very thankful for this thread. I'm not doing so well with it
right now. I need to get back to the store and buy my veggies.

I am also very much drinking water. Its something that is very good
for those of us that need to loss weight and learn to not drink the
wrong things so much.

My main drink otherwise is diet coke because I can drink as much as
I want. But then I have to watch the caffeine if I'm doing that.

Its a no win for that either, it has other problems. I love tea but
tea gives me headaches so I'm really working on things to drink this
hot summer its water.

Dr. Phil McGraw's book

Hi,
Have any of you seen Dr. Phil's book "The Ultimate Weight Loss Solution: The 7 Keys to Weight Loss Freedom"?

He's basically into Cognitive Behavioral Therapy so his book is about changing your environment and your thoughts and so on to help you be successful. He also talks about finding supportive people.
He emphasizes eating "high yield foods" (filing foods) instead of food with empty calories.

I like the questionaires he has.

He says that weight loss has nothing to do with will power -- it's about establishing the right environment and the right situation.

The book is in paper back or maybe the library has a copy.

Mari,

I bought that book by Dr. Phil many years ago but never finished it.

I did not do good today as I went out and bought a bunch of Hershey kisses. My nerves have really been shot and I couldn't take it any longer.

Well I am doing pretty good. Had a hamburger and fries for lunch.
And yes they say fries and a hamburger can be okay for diabetics
so it must be okay for dieting.

Then had roast beef, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese at MCL for
supper. My thing I shouldn't have had was cheesecake. But it was so
good. And I just couldn't resist dessert.

I felt really good, when I was with Derrick today one of last years mom's
or advisor's for the activity he did. Recognized me, and even asked if
I had lost a lot of weight. Not that I would have thought the amount
was that much but sure felt nice.

Donna,

That is good for someone to notice you lost weight. I just put on baggy clothes and people think I've lost weight. I'm going to make my tight pants baggy by Really losing weight. Right after the chocolate is gone.

fruits and veggies

Hi,
How many fruits and vegetables would you say you eat in a day? I need to increase mine.

Andrew Weil says
3-4 fruits a day
and
4-5 veggies a day

A little chocolate is fine on his plan! :D

well i know that I don't eat enough fruits and veggies for sure.
I jsut bought some v8 juice to drink, that has 2 servings of veggies in the can. I can't afford to eat that many fruits though I know that I should.
yesterday was a bad day as I went to a last minute dinner party that had a buffet, crawfish fetticcini alfredo sauce....many other things that were fried.
today is a new day
~sigh
