My "burning feet" are traveling upward (m)..
 

Well. For the past two days, my burning sensation in my feet has been traveling upward. It's on the sides of my legs and it feels as though it's in my "butt and hoo hoo" LOL - for lack of a better word! I am doing a lot of sitting at work right now. We don't normally do data entry and we are doing a lot of it for the next week. I can't stand it in my feet anymore ....sheesh. I ran over to walmart during lunch and got me some of those compression stockings and a pair of those fake crocs (the ones with the holes in them).

I'm going to try that combo tomorrow and see if that helps at least my feet. I still do not believe this is "neuropathy", I believe it's due to my lower back. I can't wait to get those lumbar MRI results/report in the mail so I can read it myself. I believe there's more than just a mild bulge. I'd be surprise if that's all there was because two years ago I had two small herniations at L4/5/S1.

Well, I guess all we can do is wait and see. In the meantime, I'm watching my blood sugars, trying to eat better and get this weight off. Now that I've been on the Chantix for 3 weeks, I think it's time for me to quit as well. I've picked Monday as my quit date. While at WM, I also got a huge bag of Dubble Bubble ;)

Neuropathy means "nerve damage". Neuro - nerve , and opathy - damage

So you have neuropathy, you just don't know why??

I do hope you find out though.

Many people on these boards never find out why they get it. Took my husband over 15 years to get a diagnosis. It was always "idiopathic", meaning. THEY HAVE NO CLUE!!!

I really didn't know that "neuropathy" meant I guess :o When you put it like that it really makes sense to me now. Thank you for explaining that. That is very right. I do have neuropathy, but I just don't know what it is caused from yet. I am at home and have those compression stockings on and they feel so good! It says on the box though I should consult my doc about these? What do you think? These cost me $11.00 for one pair LOL:eek:

Compression Stockings, come in various strengths and they COMPRESS in various degrees on your leg.

In my honest opinion, given that you have neuropathy, I'd ask your physician first. These are not the most comfortable things. They are tight. I for one, could never wear these.

They are prescribed for people who retain water and the stockings push the water back into their bodies and then they pee it out (this is just simplifying it), but I watched a special on the Discovery Channel, that explained the whole thing.

Here's a description from the internet:

"Compression stockings are used to support the venous and lymphatic systems of the leg. They offer graduated compression where maximum compression is achieved at the ankle and decreases as you move up the leg. This compression, when combined with the muscle pump effect of the calf, aids in circulating blood and lymph fluid through the legs"

Speak to your doctor, then you can decide, okay?

Have you been checked for PAD,just add Arteriles Disease???Or you can have both...Also check with you Dr. alot of people don't realize those
compression hose have to be changed every 4 to 6 months.. Did you
get a prescription for them or are you guessing what you need.
I had to have some made they cost 4 hundred dollars,they were made in
Germany,I don't have the upper strength to pull them up or take them down.

I put the compuression hose on last nite after I showered and wore them for 2 hours, they felt great. Ok, now this AM, I am at work, sitting in my chair with them on and my fake crocs. So far.....my feet are not burning. However, I'll update in a few hours, I'd bet money they will start burning. If this works, I will be really surprised, I mean, REALLY surprised LOL! Actually, the air and cold and this new fallen snow feels great on my feet. They are nice and cool and not "compressed" from my shoes. If something is not right with these or feel weird, I will call my Doc, but I don't think I am going to if they work.

I have not been checked for PAD either. I didn't have a script for these stockings either. I went to WM and they had a laundry basket full of different stockings. I picked the knee highs, like nylons and medium/mild compression. That is what the pharmacy person suggested since is the first time I am wearing them.

Thanks for the info on neuropathy, when my boss leaves, I will take a look at it LOL -

Hi Shiney Sue - When you say PAD - did you mean Peripheral Artery Disease? I just wanted to make sure. I have not been checked for that at all. In fact, none of my docs even mentioned it. Interesting.
