Stinging

Does sweating sting and burn your RSD areas? I'm just curious because I have noticed it does mine...and I'm hot blooded and have hot flashes...so not helping.

Stinging

Yes, sweating does sting my affected area, but usually only during a flare...I think. I don't have a lot of hot weather here in Washington State. I have hot flashes a lot too. Are you having a flare? I'm so sorry your hurting. Hope it stops soon. :Good-Luck:

Thanks. I don't think mine has ever stopped hurting...just varies in intensity. Since it has spread into my legs, upper arms, and face this last week or so, it has been a challenge. Clothes rubbing against my legs annoyingly painful...like rubbing a sunburn that shoots tiny lightning bolts to the bone. If my legs don't calm down I might have to resort to wearing muumuus. But it's kinda funny... I have been trying to be in the "denial" stage with the spread, so I would rub the areas trying to convince myself it didn't hurt. So my body decided to wake me up just before 3am with burning and stinging. Maybe we should all just learn to levitate lol.

So now to add to the stinging from sweat, I'm finding that soap and/or even slightly warm water sting my face. Bad enough that using a washcloth hurts, but for it to sting whether or not I use a washcloth on my face is quite irritating. And the heat lately hasn't been helping the whole stinging sweat issue.

Everything stings the area on me even moving air, as far as sweating it started around the RSD are first but after a few months and laying on my back it changed to profuse sweating from every inch of my body. It took a pill to manage the sweating. Oxy time release. nothing else.

I know I'm definitely sweating a lot more, but I also have hot flashes so I will see my OB on the 2nd cuz I know at least part of it is probably low estrogen. The stinging is pretty annoying though especially in my face. And any exposure to the sun even through my clothes.

Im curious about how many of us have hot flashes and the ages. I'm 43 and mine started like gas to a match in April over 40 a day. Had to start estrogen immediately. Now both feet burn and hurt with alternating temp. (one foot cold, one hot) with running ice water from my right jaw down through my abdomen.

Yes, like I said, I most definitely have hot flashes...a lot of them. I'm 44 and have had hot flashes off and on since I was a teen, but they have most definitely gotten worse this last year since my last ovary was removed. I would even say it seems worse in the last month, but it's summer and hot so it's hard to tell sometimes LOL. Seems anything (or nothing) can set them off, too! And when I sweat, I sting...probably stink too lol, but hopefully my deodorant does its job.
