Little League World Series

This is off topic, but it's been pretty fun watching the boys from Petaluma play games on TV, in the Little League World Series, the last couple of weeks. I know one of the kids so it's even more exciting.

They're down to the final four. They play tomorrow for the U.S. championship, and if they win that, they play Sunday for the international championship. Go Petaluma!

Awesome game yesterday!

Wow! What an exciting game yesterday!

The Petaluma boys played for the U.S. championship and they were behind by 10 runs in the final inning. They rallied back to tie the game and go into extra innings. People were going crazy.

They ended up losing, but it was one of the most exciting games I've ever watched, in any sport. Awesome effort.

They ended up third, in the world. Not too shabby.

I don't care who is playing, I just love watching these little guys play. I am a baseball junkie. I love the little league world series and college world series.

The neat thing about it, is just watching the kids have fun and playing their hearts out. It's not like in the pros, where there's always some scandal about money, steroids, or some other stupid thing. It's all for the love of the game.

totally agree. There are fields just down the road from my house, I go there all the time just to watch games. The best was when my son was 12 and we went to Cooperstown and he played in a tournament at the Dream Park. It was a week of just watching kids have a blast playing ball.

Oh, that's cool. Sounds like fun.

These boys just arrived back in town. I went out to check it out. They were riding in a limo and were escorted by police, fire, and a motorcycle club. They're getting treated like rock stars. Pretty neat.

Thats awesome. Most of those boys will never play past High School, but this memory they will have forever. My son who is a senior still talks about that tournament and he watches the LLWS too. He works part time for a baseball organization and is an assistant coach for younger kids clinics.
