And the PN just keeps Marching On !

Now it's in my FACE! It's in my Hands,
Just as soon as I think I'm doing well, then I get knocked on my butt again. I don't understand.
Here is an "amusing" thing though, you know how sometimes your medication can change your taste for some things? Well, I thought it also changed the feel of my skin, like it made my skin feel "rougher" or something, (it is making me have more pimples :( ) So this morning, I'm getting little granddaughter dressed for school, and we are playing, I go to tickle her tummy (she is 3 ) and her skin feels funny to me too! Then I realize, DUH... my hands are numb! I didn't get the pins and needles, so I didn't notice them going numb.
Now, over the last week, I'm getting small pins in my face. Over my lips, in my nose, and in my eyelids. My nose is itching so bad. AND, my skin is breaking out all over. This is terrible!
Oh, let's not forget that my back aches like I've been carrying around my 40 pound granddaughter (which I have not) and yesterday in Mass I almost couldn't get up from the kneeler to get out of the way for others to pass by me. I felt like a 90 year old woman. I'm only 47 and my bones are aching!
I really just want to lie in bed and sleep for the next three days. :Bawling:

I'm getting hit hard this week.
I've had a lot, no, not a lot, a HUGE amount of issues with my EX- Husband and money. (As in, he didn't pay his share of our income taxes he was responsible for from 2003. He is on disability and they are garnishing my wages to pay his portion. Government doesn't care if we are divorced, we were married at the time and it has to be paid. Too bad if I can't pay my rent next month!) I'm pretty stressed out about that! I have two daughters in college, a granddaughter who is three, and myself who will be out on the street if I can't pay the rent! The government doesn't care. As long as they get their money. :o And my ex-husband..... he won't answer his phone. :Bang-Head:

I don't know if this applies to you, but emotional stress makes my symptoms much worse for about three days after I calm down. One of the "gifts" of having PN for me was learning to take things as they come, or to calm down quickly if I lose it.

OK Get this in your head....

STRESS=Problems = MORE problems=chaos?=MORE PROBLEMS????

YOu have to block a heap of stuff OUT! or you will self-destruct? Been There, Done THAT! Don't let it get to you...Put you mind, if not your body in one good, warm[we all loove that] safe place and insultate yourself there for some 're-charge' times. You NEED it, deserve it, and sound like you are OWED it! be it 10 minutes or a few hours each day...IF it helps you function better all-round the rest of the time all the better.

Granted, you've got more on your plate than anyone wants...many of us do. But We all have to 'tune out' to COPE.

Some issues we can help with, how you deal with them is different, but we are/still will be here.

Hugs and super good thoughts! - j

How do you block it out when you can't pay your rent? How do you "tune out" when your electricity is turned off or your cable is turned off? We just got the cable turned back on this week. Electricity is on a 15 day notice. I can pay the "past due" part, but not the current due part. It's hard to "tune out" when you are the single breadwinner for a household. My daughters are understanding and have cut back on all they can.

How do I "tune out" or "block out"? I've been spending a lot of time at church. Friends are donating 20 bucks here and there for food for the kids. But when you live in Silicon Valley and your rent is $2000.00 it's tough to make it each month! I've got $1500.00 and we're working on the other 500.
25% of my pay check is a big hit for a single mom.

One day at a time!

Thanks for your support!

Terri

does your church have an emergancy fund for members terri? many food banks have funds for utilities.

how long is the money going be taken out of your check? can they spread it out longer?

cable companies won't work with you much. they are considered a luxery. but most utitily companies will. what will help is them knowing that you are employed and telling them the situation, even offering to send them proof of the garnishment.

i helped families through my church years ago. i ran our food bank. you can get ehlp from many churches. you don't have to be a member. most we helped weren't members. it was always a joy to have these people come back later when they were on their feet and make donations.

i know hard it is. but like dahlek said...10 minutes in a warm brain vacation. just to relex. just imagine a warm safe place. it might clear your mind and help you think of other answers.

i have seen articles about lawyers who specialize in negotiating with the IRS to get that amount reduced. IM not sure if it applies in your case, bu it might help to look

good idea joe.

here is a web site ( message board) that is free legal advice. it is awesome. do a search before asking a question, they can tend to get huffy if the question has recently been answered. :o

i have used this site a bunch.

You do not need to hire an attorney, etc.

If you do not provide proof, or tell the truth however, they will go after you

Terri, you've been given some good....

advice by others. Also call your city/county rep or supervisor and ask for referrals to any assistance that might be available....either thru guvmint sources or others.. Now isn't a time to be proud, and you will be surprised at what my be out there. I am truly hoping it's what you need, but, at this point, any little bits would surely help.

Web up our city/county and check out family services, also your utilities and see if there are any 'assist' programs thru them-some of short term, others longer. They are often 'hidden' so you've got to do a little digging.

As for any legal issues, most areas have some sort of legal aid, and often some very lo cost 'clinics' that can point you to the directions you may need to go, as well as the options you may have...and, aid resources for some of the other pragmatic issues...such as trying to live.

Just get all your relevant papers together tho..they don't have to be organized, just in a tote bag or smaller box so I can rummage thru it all to put your paws on what you probably do have and will need to speed things up.

Wish I could be there to help you, I've helped others in this quarter and I've been surprised at the folks out there who can be really useful to you.

Good thoughts for you till later! - j
