Today

Hey guys today i held my first basketball practice with the team, started off with simple drills, and i felt really good, we took a practice at the outside b. court, after simple drills i just went out with full force like i would had been recovered, was doing everything and played just great, my jump wasnt that good as it used to be, but i was amazing, the practice was huge and first of the season so we all left the court like "dead mans" walking, and all gonna feel exausted tommorow just as today.

The facts: it was +14 outside and really sunny, though my throat hurts a bit from running, the wind was small, 13km/h. I took "paracetamol" or i should say tylenol, im drinking sometimes "citranom" aswell, no idea how it sounds in USA.

Problems: The jump was smaller cause i hadnt exercised due to injury, i falled once big time, i went to the hoop and slipped, smashed my elbow, looks a bit bad but doesnt hurt, my butt hurts, hitted it big time, gonna use "traumel" for it, but my head was fine, didnt felt any headaches while playing, was thinking about the butt only lol after small break i continued till practice was done.

Theres a pain in back, at the top right side, like someone would backstab me with knife all the time, my mom says my lung is "frost-bitten" it will hurt for 3 days or so...

So we all left the court exausted and coach was happy. Theres a next practice tommorow, ill attend it if ill only feel good tommorow morning.

Once i got home in warmer place got my good old mild headaches, a bit stiff neck, small shakes ,caused from nerves probably (my vegetative nervous system syndrome), not hearing well with right ear as usually as it will stay for rest of my life.

So yeah, im pretty much happy with today, would be excellent day if i wouldnt slip and fall.

Citramon tablets contain acetylsalicylic acid, paracetamol, caffeine, citric acid. This is aspirin, Tylenol, caffeine and citric acid. The citric acid is likely a preservative and flavoring. Sounds like Excedrin.

Ziggo,

The level of practice sounds extreme for a concussed brain. But then, it appears that your brain has a tolerance for chemical and physical jarring insults. I would not be surprised if you have a few bad days after the trauma of that practice.

Thanks for "citranom" info...
Hey dont scare me with things like that :D Im in really good move at the moment lol

Every concussed brain is different. You might be fine. Just try to be aware of how you're feeling over the next few days; try not to overdo it. You might just be really lucky and walk away from all of this with no real issues.

I think most experts believe that most people recover with no noticeable long-term effects from a concussion. I think that's why a lot of us here on this forum are asking, "Why is this affecting me so much?!?!?"

But also keep in mind that those same experts believe that concussions have a cumulative effect - so try not to get anymore concussions!

Looks like you recovered pretty good though you mentioned your MRI didn't look good?

I know quite a few people like you (including some seniors!) recovered pretty quickly with no long term effects.

No one really knows with this TBI/PCS. Consider yourself lucky but be careful. Are you still on any medications?

Keep it up and enjoy your life.

Here it is, as you see theres contusion injury in right parietal lobe, not hematoma, and im really glad not hematoma, its 6x8mm big, i guess its big as far what neurologist said. Got hundreds of pictures....

Taking Tylenol (paracetamol) Excedrin (citronom)
C and B vitamins that would be all

Yikes!

Thanks. I had contusions too. I was recovering pretty good in the first 5 weeks and then PCS hit me and ruined/ruining my life.

Anyways there is no comparison.

Good that you are not on any long-term medicines and keep it that way if you can.
Have fun and be wise about alcohol etc.,

Well its 3rd month, and i feel good, there is big possibility that i will play tommorow or on saturday, and visit at least 1 party this weekend...

Still have neurologists "drugs" but im over them for quite some time already.

Well i already have accepted that i might have headaches for a year or so doesnt matter for me, just as some shaking.

I just found this small article about how concussions are different from contusions and I found it interesting, I thought maybe some of you would too! :)
