Positive Thinking

I went out to dinner last night with a good friend. I asked him what his secret was to always being so happy, he said "Char, Positive Thinking, it is a powerful thing"

I of course thought of my friends here and how I haven't done a Positive Thoughts Thread in so long, so here I am!

My positive thought for the day:

Even though it may be cold outside the sun is shining and we are going to take our friend from Holland to Bar Harbor sight seeing. It is going to be a great day!

okay, it is your turn!

My hubby is off work today (rare Saturday off in the restaurant biz). Hopefully, we can get a lot of stuff accomplished. I've been struggling with wanting to decorate for Christmas, and I'd like to knock that off my list along with finishing installing the shower enclosure for the bathroom we have been renovating.

My DH has been in the hospital for awhile now (double by-pass) and his heart can't remember how to behave so he has been there five days longer than normal.

He keeps going into atrial fib where his heart will actually stop and then start beating really fast.

He has such a positive attitude and the nurses all tell me what a nice guy he is and how they enjoy caring for him.

One nurse told me he is so upbeat and happy he helps us all stay postitive.

I will go visit him thinking "what if" and then I see him sitting there smiling or joking with nurses or housekeeping and I can't help but smile and be happy too. :)

surround yourself with friends and family that encourage and build you up - and let the others "go" ...

it sounds so easy - and when we really examine our lives and see who we let in ... it's amazing who we let 'control' our thoughts or ideas ..

there's a new book out "The Blue Zone" ...

and I learned the hard way - take care of ME first ... help others ... and you create the life that's yours! :D

Thanks for this thread, Char! :)

I really try and stay positive. I have so much to be thankful for. So much.

I try to think of what I do have rather than what I don't have. Like Cindy said......I have everything I need (and more). Whether or not my wants materialize is up to the Lord. He knows exactly what I need and when I need it.

I spent my entire morning surrounded by the volunteer fire fighters and people of my old community. It was a great day. Things were hectic, we were running around like crazy but we had over 60 people show up for breakfast with Santa and it felt SO GOOD to be back at the fd helping out my extended family.

Granted my body is alreasy starting to make me pay for it, but it was worth it!
