Lady Gaga

Okay, I'm ready for the angry feedback (sorta), but....Lady Gaga? Really?? THIS is who our young people admire and shower with money and adulation? Lady? Gag. God help us all.

same vein as Madonna. A rebel who doesnt conform to anyones standards and is in your face kinda girl.

Would you wear a dress made of meat? ick! I think she is bizarre, odd, and does 99% of the things she does to stay in the limelight.

As she tried to get in her old apartment on 60 minutes (60 minutes is doing a story on this? I lost some respect for them) I thought she looked a little manic.

Weird. Just plain weird. And I can't stand her music....if that's what you'd call it. I'd call it something else.

Agreed!!!

She isn't at the top of my playlist, BUT she is a marketing genius. We all remember Madonna's cone bra, Michael's glove, we will all remember her meat dress (and Egg arrival from the Grammy's last night) for YEARS to come.

I missed the Grammy's, but agree with everyone, including Earl.

Maybe we're just too OLD to appreciate new music, lol!

I'm 42, and I guess 40 is the cutoff for liking Gag's music. I cant stand it. The 60 Minutes story about her showed her one-upping Madonna on the bra. Gag had sparklers stuck in her bra during a concert in the news story last night...and another sparkler in another area that I dont even want to think about. (I need brain bleach, eye bleach and a lobotomy after seeing that video... *shudder*)

I think Madonna is a much better musician than Gaga is, and a heck of a lot smarter (and way better looking) But then, I was 12 when Madonna was just starting to become famous and grew up listening to her music, which is much better.

My DD is 40 and went to Atlanta to visit a friend and see GAGA live. I think DD's in her musical 2nd childhood.:D She was also rootin for Eminem, last night...UGH!!

Becca44 02-16-2011 10:16 AM

I kinda like her. Not sure why. She's mastered the art of fame (as she says), at least so far (who knows where she'll end up, it's a long road) but she's also a classically trained pianist and legitimate singer/song writer.

Madonna was more my era and I have a soft spot for her but, in terms of voice (more style than substance) and musical instrument ability (none), Madonna's no match for Gaga. Where she bests her I think is masking her ambition behind a more likeable facade (at least sometimes), whereas Gaga always comes across as Gaga's biggest fan and it's starting to sound a little loony. I think it'll catch up with her.
