Extraction Pain

I had just got two extractions on Thursday, and it is now Saturday.
I'm in SO MUCH PAIN, and it's to the point where I woke up in the middle of the night last night and couldn't go back to sleep because I was in SO much pain, and I'm just wanting to know if there is anything I can do to take the pain away? Because I had bought Orajel earlier today and it takes some of the pain away, but its still throbbing in that one spot.

I placed a copy of your post on our Dentistry & Dental Issues forum - you might get some replies there also.

Call the dental surgeon who did the extractions and tell him about it. The last time I had one, I was prescribed a couple days worth of analgesics, which was satisfactory.

Hi Victoria ~ I'd call my dentist - you might have a "dry socket." That happens sometimes after an extraction, and it's EXTREMELY painful. It won't stop until you see the dentist and he does something about it. it's cause if you suck on a straw, or smoke, or drink or eat too soon afterwards. There are other things that cause it too. Give him a call! Best of luck. God bless. Hugs, Lee
