Is it the time of year?

I haven't posted much about us in a while. I always have symptoms that I ignore as much as I can.

About 2 weeks ago my daughter's right arm started to hurt again. It is always the right arm when it starts. This tight pulling. I understand her pain, because my arms will do the same thing and it will bring me to tears.

She had been taking zanaflex for it, without much sucess.
Yesterday she wakes up and can barely walk. Her left leg hurts to walk or straighten it out. I watched her hobble around for a few hours and finally decided to take her to the PCP.
He decided it was tendonitis. Gave her a anti-inflammatory and said to use her lidoderm patches. Neither of which are helping.

I would have tried her Rheumy but they would tell me they could see her in 2 months. She has an appointment in July. Lot of good that does now.

I was telling my son about DD's leg last night. He began to tell me about how bad the heat had made him flare yesterday. How bad his memory and concentration are right now.

2 weeks ago, my vision started doing screwy again. Tingling and numbness were worse than normal. Ear's ringing like crazy.
Tonight I got this funny feeling in my throat. Couldn't figure it out until the pulling sensation started.(flashback to before) The pulling in my throat has ended up in my Jaw. I have not had jaw pain in a long time now. But suddenly tonight, here it is.

Makes me wonder what is going on that suddenly everyone's symptoms are flaring. It cannot be the heat with DD and I. DD has barely been outside lately. Me? I go outside constantly. They are freezing me to death with the AC. I wear a coat around the house all day long. According to the thermostat the kids are correct and the AC needs to be on. If it were up to me, it would be off.

Our pollen count has been the highest ever, and it's been that way for over 2 months now. My allergies have been in full swing since the end of March, which is a long time for me. Usually get a couple of weeks of allergy issues, then it tapers off. Not this year!

I've already had one sinus infection that caused a lot of symptom fun earlier this year.

Hope your family feels better soon.

Geez, Day, this just gets harder and harder for you all. I know we've talked about it before, but I don't remember what the answers were. Do you have a carbon monoxide detector? A radon detector? Have you had your house checked for foreign chemicals like the carpet adhesive or asbestos? It's too weird to be a coincidence and I always wonder about that stuff.

DAY1 05-22-2008 11:31 AM

Cindy, we don't have much problem with Radon in this part of the country.

Before we moved we had testing done for carbon monoxide and heavy metals.
We even moved to make sure it wasn't that.
This house is all electric, so not much change of carbon monoxide.

At this point the doctors are saying it is Autoimmune. They just don't know which one. My daughters hearing loss is helped by steroids. So they feel it is definately autoimmune.

We just keep taking it in waves. We have all gone a pretty good while without too many problems. Guess it's just time for it to flare up again.

Day, I'm sorry you guys are having such a rough time. I know that I always get sick every April. It is not hot around here, only in the 60's so it is not the heat. I personally think it has to do with the change of the season.

Hope you all get some relief soon!!!

SallyC 05-22-2008 12:23 PM

Day, since you, DD and DS are all suffering from autoimmune symptoms, it sure sounds like it is an invironmental thingy. Or maybe it is a change of weather bug of some kind.

I hope it all goes away soon....sending hugs and good wishes..:hug::hug:
