I've heard Crocs are supposed to be comfy, and would give your feet some protection. I've never tried them, but they look like they have ventalation too, so might be coolish. Flip-flops are the worst things in the world to wear, except at a pool

I like Keen and Mephisto. Both are closed toe.

teva

I like the "Teva" or "teva naot" - search the internet. they both have good sandals that hold your foot...

I heard too flip flops can create problems cause lack of support. I wear Nike walking shoes that I woud not say are light but are lighter then most walking shoes. They have a lot of mesh. I have seen some that are even more mesh you may want to look and see. I have read that for feet issues Merrell is a good brand and New Balance as well.

Flip FLops on a regular basis are not good. They can cause a lot of problems. New Balance is supposed to be a very good shoe.

I go to a department store that has all their shoes and sizes on display. I keep trying on shoes until I find one that is comfortable. For that I do not need anyone to keep bringing me different shoes or sizes.
