Predisone Withdrawl
 
I was wondering if anyone out there knows what works for the terrrible anxiety associtated with tapering off from high dose predisone. I have been having this anxiety for over a year and nothing seams to help:mad:

Prednisone depletes over time many nutrients. One of them is magnesium. When your magnesium is low, you suffer because it is used in hundreds of biological processes. Many people who
bring their magnesium up, feel much more calm and sleep much better.

Prednisone also depletes other things...here is a list:

You can choose foods high in potassium and magnesium. For the magnesium a supplement may be needed so do not choose a supplement containing magnesium OXIDE as this is not absorbed and is basically a laxative. Chelates like gluconate, glycinate, and citrate (used carefully) are better. SlowMag is also good, and is delayed release. You can soak in epsom salts baths, or use a lotion, which is what I do mostly.
