Hello..newbie here..

Hi i am new here and would like to know if anyone has any info on a procedure called Kyphoplasty? I have a Compression fracture of T8 with a heamangioma complication. This fracture occurred after I slipped on loose gravel & sat down hard on my rear end. Pain to upper back only started a month later. I think it was due to quite a lot of activity that w end.I had an MRI which showed this result. After two weeks i was re-x-rayed and there is now further collapse of the vertebrae ..50% now. My Specialist has spoken to me about a procedure called a Kyphoplasty although he did say it was risky. Any info would be welcome on this injury and procedure.
Thank you.. Ave

Hello Hollee!

Welcome to NT!

You've found a great place for support and understanding!
Please make yourself right at home and feel free to look through the forums and post anywhere you feel inclined. There's alot of good information here at NT, and lots of caring people.

You might want to check out the Spinal Disorder forum. Here's the shortcut link to take you there:

Also, you could try using the 'Search' feature in the bar toward the top of the screen and type in "Kyphoplasty". Perhaps it'll bring up posts with previous discussion on this.

Just holler if you have any questions or need help finding your way around!
It's great to have you!
