Poop eating dog

Anyone have any proven method to stop dog from eating own poop. I have tried GNC pills, pills from vet, pineapple in food, pepper on poop and quickly removing poop after she deposits it. I am at my wits end. I can't stand over her and watch her relieve herself everytime to make sure she doesn't eat it. I have switched foods and she still eats it.

Have you been to the vet? Had some blood work done?

Eating weird things can signal pica... and the most common cause is iron deficiency.

Here is an article:

Our dogs go out and find the cat droppings:rolleyes:... but they don't eat their own or other dog poo...

We've tried various dog foods and none make a difference.
Maybe just a oddball habit...they get into, if they are otherwise healthy.

The cat poop thing is pretty common. I've heard of that because cats eat a high fat high protein diet.

That's exactly what we had to do when we brought our puppy home only to find out he was loaded with coccidia. Depending on the reason, that's exactly what you may have to do for a while.

Technically, it's called coprophagia.
Google: coprophagia dogs (and be sure to include dogs :vomit: )
