Forearms
 
The majority of my issues are related to my forearms. Burning, tingling, hypersensitivity and nerve excitement, etc. Any ideas as to which tissues or muscles to stretch or relax in order to target the nerves which innervate those muscles? I know I need to target an area, but just not sure which.

Has anyone checked you for triggerpoints across your upper back and scalenes?
I would start there and then after do some stretching of those areas.

Have you seen the pressure pointer trigger point chart?
It can help to show a friend where to press for TrPs.

But basically if you do have TRPs - you have to get rid of them first - stretching alone doesn't really do it.

You would be stretching a muscle that has an irritated spot - just makes it worse most of the time, untill that TrP is resloved. and other latent TrPs may shopw up, but they all need to be taken care of.

Have not checked for TRP's very effectively other than a chiro doing some manual massage before popping me into alignment. Was looking into a trigger point massage specialist in my area to see if I could get some professional help. I am just trying to think where to focus if my main issues are my forearms. I suspect my scalenes are a mess.

I can't recall what specifically helped my forearm issues, too long ago...:o

But chiro did some myofascial release stuff ( Nimmo?), low level laser, IF stim, ultrasound all across my upper back , shoulders & neck, oh and the upper chest near the collarbones.

Plus my home self care stuff of tennis ball TrP work, posture, Sharon Butler stretches, far infrared heating pad & EMS(elec muscle stim)
vitamins & supplements - good multi , Cal/mag, MSM, Vit c, grape seed extract
water
Epsom salt baths

I gave up smoking:) almost three years ago now, in the hope that it would improve my symptoms. Last year ( despite the V/ATOS ) my troublesome neurological problems subsided on there on accord! I like to think that quitting smoking helped?????? I'm now also working on improving my shallow breathing issue to help increase my oxygen intake further.

Definitely not a smoker, never got on that train. I suspect that my forearm pain is actually referred pain from an impingement further up the food chain. I suspect it's my scalene or neck area, I guess I just wish I could isolate the source or sources of impingement so that I could focus my efforts there.
