Post wisdom teeth extraction problem??

Hello,

I had my wisdom teeth 2 weeks ago this Friday and I am not sure if something is wrong or not. I'm not in any pain, but there's still something weird that seems to be going on. I had all four out, and on the bottom (both sides) it feels like my jaw bone is covering the back part of my back molars. It's almost like my teeth are resting against the bone and there is very little space between the part of the molars and my bone. This is concerning me because it's very hard to fit a toothbrush back there (always was hard enough- I have a very small mouth) and so it feels like they will not be brushed adequately and deteriorate. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Also, it seems like when I accidently bite down against the gum in that location or touch that bone/jaw part, it's pretty tender and a little painful. Normally, though, it doesn't bother me at all aside from the feeling that my mouth is now super crowded.

Anyways, I hope that makes sense.
Thanks,
Allison

Hi allison,

I am in the dental field and can offer you some help here.

Were the wisdom teeth impacted, partially impacted or fully erupted?
Is your lower jaw still swollen behind the second molars? Because that's what it sounds like from your description.

Your statement.... <<the feeling that my mouth is now super crowded>>...
Could this be due to swelling behind those last molars?
