pain control

Other than OTC or strong pain meds, what else can work? I'm in so much pain and the more I use my arm the more it hurts. I have an 8 month old son who wants to be held and I hold him and play with him and protect him, but I am in sooo much pain.

Any ideas? Would immobilization help? I don't want to harm my muscles by not using them, but I need to get this pain to go away.

Thanks

Ask your doc for a sample of lidocaine patches. I don't know if it will help but it is worth a try. if you immobilize your shoulder you may end up with a frozen shoulder. That is a pretty big problem and sometimes doesn't go away even with treatment!
