Swallowing?
 

Is a symptom of issues with swallowing having to move your chin down to swallow?

I've noticed that I have to tuck my chin towards my chest (to some degree) to adequately swallow.

Or is that just normal?

It isn't really a symptom as such... the symptom is the weakened muscles in your throat. It is a work-around for the body to compensate for those weakened muscles.

I guess what I was referring to,.. was if anyone else did that to compensate, or noticed they had to do it to swallow more easily.

Yep, lots of us with swallowing issues need to compensate. For me, it comes & goes, but when I'm flaring I need to turn my head to the right as well as tilt it down to swallow right.

You are right, such a jaw position opens your throat to the maximum, that's why swallowing is easier !
