There's Hope For Us Yet..

D ick Van Dyke just married a 40 yr. old kid, at 86..

DVD has always been one of my favs. My DDH resembled a young DVD.:D

Yeah, he went from a 76 year old wife to a 40 year old.

He's not only old enough to be her father.....he's old enough to be her grandfather!!

And I was just watching him yesterday on TVLand......the old D ick Van Dyke show!! Laura would be appalled!! :p

I love the DVD show! And, yes Kelly, Laura would be appalled at D ick's behavior. :p

I can't get my head around this one. At 40, I had unstoppable energy. I was on the go all the time and even though I was exhibiting some neurological stuff I still was all energy. (I was dx at almost 42 and that energy changed with a major flare). Of course, that's not to say that an 86 yo doesn't have energy. That's not quite it. But at 86 you are in a much different place than at 40. He has 46 years on this woman.:eek: Most 86 yo I know, which isn't a whole lot, spend a lot of their time reminiscing about the past. There energy level is lower than a 40 yo. And, they're dealing with health issues - DVD with his history of drinking, is definitely dealing with issues. And, I can't help but say this but the S-word more more than likely involve a prescriptive aid. (I'm trying to be G-rated here.) That's just part of the aging process. So, I just don't get it.

LOL That's why I put before my dx I had lots of energy. Now, I'm about his speed too. You know, the slow motion-let's stay in tonight and watch tv-where are my glasses and keys kind of speed.

Maybe that's why she likes him. He's heading to bed just as she's heading out the door to party!
