seizures and ectopic heartbeat

hi

im just a bit worried at the mo. Since beg march my seizures increased from 2 a month to 2 every day for 5 weeks. after increase in keppra have got it down to 1 every day plus myoclonics (new)

However just lately after my seizures my ectopic heartbeat has been a problem.

This is where my heart skips a beat and then there a thud and it beats again but then doesnt stop and keep getting them.

Obviously after a szr you have a racing heartbeat and try to sleep the seizure off. but with the cycle of the thud all the time i cant get to sleep.

iam also getting alot pain in my chest with it.

just concerning me at the mo.

Hi Michelle,

I'm sorry to hear that your sz. have increased. I'm no neuro
but I know when I was taking keppra my sz. increased and just like you
I began having myoclonic sz. which I never had before. My Epileptologist
took me off the kepppra and put me on vimpat and the myoclonic and
complex partial sz. stopped but I still have absence and simple partial sz.
I have been told that heart problems can trigger sz. You might want to
see a heart specialist if you haven't yet. When a person gets pain in their shoulder or arm that's a sign of heart problems which can lead to more sz.
I know this because I have family that have had heart problems and it led to
other medical problems. Try taking vitamin B12 1000 mcg. once a day to see if that helps reduce your sz. and as I mentioned see a heart specialist immediately. I wish you only the best of luck and May God Bless You!

(((Michelle)))

I'm sorry that you're struggling. :( Never any fun.

Are you working with an epileptologist, neurologist, or general practitioner? I'd recommend contacting who you are working with and report these symptoms to him/her. Personally, I have an epileptologist & strongly recommend that you check out your options in the area. These doctors are very experienced in the 30+ different types of seizures, causes, and treatment.

Very best wishes to you ~ I hope that your doctor's are able to get through the ectopic heartbeat and chest pain.

Shez
