What meds help your ATN or type 2 TN?

I have been on Neurontin. It makes me kinda loopy and does not take away all of the pain even at a high dose of 3000mg. If I take Klonopin too though out the day it helps a lot. I want to try topamax but scared of those side effects.

Please tell me what you take and what works for you.

I take a low dosage of Topamax for migraines and it is helpful for my migraines. Doesn't seem to do a thing for my ATN and I would NOT be willing to try more because it messes up my memory BADLY. They don't call it "Dopamax" for nothing.

I've posted here a lot about my meds for ATN. I went through many with either no relief at all or bad side effects.

Now, I take Desipramine tablets and a specially formulated compounded cream that I rub on my face about 4x a day. In the cream is:Gabapentin, Lidocaine and Capsaisin. Side effects have been minimal and the help has been good.

I have some bad days still...but the improvement has been good and I am pleased with the results.
