Please help... Cervical epidural shot 2 days ago, intense pain in neck an arm

I had a second steroid shot in my C6-C7 2 days ago. This is the second one I have had since 1 month ago. The first one caused a lot of neck pain for 1 day and helped me get arm movement back and a little less pain for 5 days. So tried a second one 2 days ago. The pain is SO MUCH worse in my neck and arm , arm pit and for arm. I have never had this reaction to steroid shots. During the procedure my BP spiked up from 124/72 to 150/97, came down after 30 min. Also was extreme flushed with heart palpitation yesterday, never had that before but sure it normal. This pain does not feel normal. I'm at a lose as to why and what to do. Also have a headache but not sure if it's from the pain. So appreciative any thoughts. Thank you!

I hope you contacted the drs office to let them know pain was very bad, they may know what to do for you...
It has probably happened to others at times, a needle placed wrong or hit a nerve...

Thank for your help! Big time! I have not but am going to call the after hours line, can't take the pain anymore. It feels so much like it's more inflamed in the nerves.

Agree with JoMar...it is essential you reach your docs office.

Can you handle one of those gel ice packs or is the pain too intense.
If you don't have one, take a small towel or wash cloth and put in a ziplock bag in the freezer to get it very cold...it may help.

I have has several and some hurt more than other afterwards but not unbearable pain because my shots also included a numbing agent and or an antiinflammatory.

I hope you feel better soon.....keep us posted.

If you know, was it a transforaminal or interlaminar epidural?
