Hi Dorrie~

My aren't we up earily this morning! I haven't slept well either. I've been up with my back about 4 times last night. I got to work this morning too. We are suppose to have temps at 90 for the next two days.

Lets all make an effort to check in today.I just weighed and have lost a couple pounds finally.

good morning. bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning aren't we? oh...oops...that's me. :p

not sure about my day. hubby has to work all day. SAT weekend and the teens that work for yus ended up all scheduled for today. oh well. we are so proud of them and pray that they do well.

lil'monkey wants to go get her hair cut...short short. her hair is so thick and curly. i think it will be cut. but we are going to get advice from a good salon first. i cut about 4 inches off the bottom yesterday.

my mind is all geared up to get going, but my body is saying...no. so we shall see after my 1 cup of coffee.

i am bound and determined to get started on my teddy bears this weekend. i have get some income coming in or we will be back in the same boat we were a few months ago. the well has run dry.

i'm going to try my hand at ebay. any help...is needed. :o

Gosh - some of you are still having summer !! I can't believe it.
barely hitting 60 here unless the sun peeks out of the clouds- but it sure makes for some beautiful skies and colors when it happens.
just never seem to have my camera at the right time:( darn it!

Curious, what kind of teddys do you make - stuffed ones?

I think I am going to get busy doing a lot of paintings for Holiday gifts this year.
there's a local painters showcase & sale next week that I want to check out too.

I was sleeping great until the dogs woke me up - first one wanted in, and then other had to go out, and then back in , then they got in a small fight {one is the spoiled in/out dog- she thinks she rules the house- the other is the outside boss , but she is getting spoiled {scared of loud noises} so when she comes in the house the other dog and her clash once in awhile.} anyway I was in and out of bed about 4 times last nite at least hubby let me sleep in {he can sleep right thru all the dog commotion:rolleyes:}

i make all kinds...but not furry ones very often. mostly cottons, denim, baby flannel...soft type of fabric. my fave to make are my Keepsake Bears. i make those out of clothes people send me. like baby clothes. my christmas bears are really popular. i love to decorate them up and personalize all the bears.

i have some photos i can scan and post.

i'm in a crafty mood. what are you going to paint jo?

Jomar 10-06-2007 01:39 PM

I stick to landscapes scenes mostly - sky, surf, mountains, lakes - places that you might like to be there , peaceful & restful

still learning waves and ocean techniques- just got some more books and videos on other styles too.

here's some- I've reworked a few of these already, they just didn't look right to me

Jo You are a wonderful artist! I only wish I could paint like that!:)

Curious 10-06-2007 01:54 PM

i think you are on the right track jo. :D when i first started painting i would work and rework.

changing brushes to use many different thickness and texture helps to add depth. bringing hints of reflextion of the clouds...sun...mountains...trees in the water brings the lifeness.

picking a spot to be the focal point. a tad more sharpness or detail. shadow or deepness in the color. like a tree a ridge of the mountain.

lol...i have taken a photo of my painting and painted on that to try and "fix" it. helps. i don't feel like i have ruined one by trying something. hehe..scanned a few. just the sections i thought needed help.

i love to paint. very relaxing. i have been able to do much in the last year.

btw...not saying your painting need any of the tricks i use. just what has worked for me...to get me happy with them.
