So the DH2B in his infinite wisdom decided to one up us all for DDs BDay and get her the kinect thing for the xbox and some games to go with it.

This is the body sensor thing. No controllers.

I will say that for the kids this is a great idea because they are not sitting on the couch pushing buttons and you have to use your whole body instead of just turning a wii controller. It makes them move and jump and dodge things and duck and go to and fro.

I will also say...... this game is NOT designed for people with MS and balance issues. I just attempted one of the games, and failed miserably. Good news is, I gave up before I ended up on the floor. Bad news is, I don't see myself participating in family game night with this one.

Oh, I also discovered another sneaky thing. It takes pictures of you while you play. You have to manually turn this feature off each time you play. I did figure out how to delete the proof of my playing with DD's gift while she was at school. LOL

That's pretty cool! And, of course you can participate. You are the cheerleader. Get some pom poms and cheer DD on. She will enjoy that just as much.

Sounds (and looks) like fun. My oldest son bought me a Wii and I'm ashamed to say that I haven't used it much at all. I tried, but most of the games just require too much exertion and/or balancing for me to be able to participate for any length of time. That combined with the cognitive need to remember how to work the unit and hand controls and, well, it's just a recipe for aggravation for me. I enjoy sitting and watching others much more! :o
