It wasn't so awful. The radiologist did it under flouroscopy, and used a tiny needle. He took fluid to send off for tests for neuropathy and MS (which I know I don't have). They injected dye, and I felt nothing until they asked me to roll around. At that point I got butt pain.They said the extra dye in the spinal column just would increase any pressure on nerves that were at all compromised, so this was expectable, and transient. Then they did a CT.

So, I'm ready to make an appt with the surgeon and discuss the results.

I was wiped out today, but it wasn't all the myelo, some was the sinuses. And the big headache that 5% of people get---I didn't get it.

My legs are wobbly, however, kind of rubbery. If that's not gone by morning, I'll let them know. But now I'm using my trekking pole in the house. I think it's because the dye caused pressure that mimics spinal stenosis. We'll se tomorrow, but i'm not worried.

--you've made it through the process with fairly minimal disruption.

From my understanding (admittedly gleaned from the spinal boards here and at Braintalk), the rubberylegs you're experiencing are exactly from what you mentioned; much of the purpose of the myelogram is to see if the increased fluid pressure will show in particular "collection" areas, signalling pressure on structures. In a normal spinal canal, the dye fluid should not "pool", at least not very much.

I'm hoping your rubberiness is temporary.

And make sure you tell us what both the spinal fluid and structural analysis show.

Finally, you posted. I was worried about you. And I'm so glad no headache. Stay safe until all this rubbery stuff goes away.

I'm glad you posted,because I was so worried when I had it done. My mom
had no problems,it was the fear of the unknown. I remember lucky no
nasty head acke ,the wobbly legs not bad. yes good for you LJ

Now I'm afraid again,on Friday go to maxillofacial Surgery,Dental Oncology
Department of Sugery. I feel we have to all come up with full body
and in my case,face foam something for falls..
