Nightmares gone bad
 

I have nightmares in which I am fighting unknown bad guys to protect unknown children. These happen almost nightly and I am always successful, until last night.

Last night I failed to protect 3 children. As the bad guys were moving in on our position, I put one in a choke hold. I was choking him as I watched the other bad guys move closer. I was squeezing so tightly that I actually knocked one tooth loose and broke another one (in the dream) in half while gritting my teeth.

The entirety of the nightmare is common so I'm not too concerned with that, but I am concerned that this is the first time that I have failed to protect these children.

Has anyone had nightmares that suddenly took a turn for the worse like this? If so, were you able to link it to any environmental changes?
