Recommendations for Lift
 

I am looking for recommendations for a lift for my new power chair. :D
I have a Quantum 600 and it is wonderful. Extremely comfortable and 'handles' like a sports car. I had been using a power chair that DH found on EBay which helped me to get out and about.

The new chair was 'made' especially for me and what a difference!! I am not petite and this chair has a seat that is long enough, a back that is high enough and a leg brace which keeps my left leg from falling off the footrest!

The only draw back being is the weight, approx 300 lbs:eek: If my DS is with us he can lift it into and out of our 2007 GMC Envoy.

DH cannot lift that amount of weight. We can take the chair if we use the pick up and the ramps but that is not always practical when thunderstorms threaten.

So, I am in the process of researching lifts that would raise the chair and swing it into the back of the Envoy.

DH's employers will pay for the lift, so thankfully cost is not a problem.

Does anyone have any recommendations?? Any & all help is appreciated!:)

Cool, Ris! That's a fantastic chair! My supplier deals exclusively with Braun, they are that confident with them.

NurseNancy (Judy) has the swing hook in her van, you might ask her about what she thinks of it.

If you have a pickup, a BBQ cover with a drawstring added works great and won't force you to stick with the same car forever. I used one on my scooter through MI winters, so I speak from experience.

How cool that you can get it through hub's employer, that makes it a hundred times easier.

Have fun buzzing in the Q600 and only run over the bratty kids. ;)

Bruno lifts are the best. I have a side loader in my MiniVan. It's on a track and my Scooter sits right behind the drivers seat, makin it easier to lift it in or out, without my having to get out of the Car.

I don't know if this kind would be practicle for a powerchair, but it may be worth a look see.

I would also do my homework on Vantage Mobility International. I have a VAN with a VMI in-floor ramp, they also make lifts to put the chair in a regular van, very nice, they might be more expensive but VERY good.
