alj hearing

i had my hearing with my lawyer in front of the judge.it took about half an hour.the judge was real nice and thanked me when it was over,he said "thank you for coming today ,i know it was hard for you to attend this today".there was only a court reporter in the room besides me,my lawyer, and the judge.i have read where the judge has vocational experts, and medical experts to discuss youre condition at the hearing.the judge said i will be getting a decision in the mail but didnt offer up any time frame, and i was scared to ask.does anyone have an idea if this is normal or not,and what my chances might be of being approved, the judge was real nice but he probably is to everybody.i dont really know what is next,i have read where some people have money deposited in there account before getting there decision in the mail,i dont know how that can happen ,i didnt give the judge any info. on my bank account,so maybe im denied.well thanks to all that reads and replies,im just nervous as all get out over this.

Alj

Hi, I go next Wednesday and was told a voc rehab person and a doctor will be at my hearing. I have been told it takes weeks to months to get a judge's decision. Do you mind me asking what you went for? Thanks

There was definitely a voc rehab person in the room during my hearing. The judge asked him, "With these restrictions, is there any gainful employment you could find for her?" and he said, "No."

My lawyer did say afterwards, no guarantees, but he was 99.9% sure the decision would go our way. I think I got the letter from the judge a few weeks later

there was no one in the room besides me, the alj and my lawyer. The only reason for the hearing it turned out was to adjust the start of disability date back 7 months, the judge had already decided favorably. Of course i did not know that until i got there.

i went for back and nerve problems(2 surgerys on back, both failed, nerve impigements, degenerative disc disease)anddepression, anxiety, and agoraphobia.i have been this way 3 and a half years,i lost a real good job to this injury.i was pretty active before, now im on no type of real schedule, sleep when i can,lay around to get comfortable,i feel useless if it wasnt for my fear of eternity in hell i would end this with dignity.

I won!!

I also won. Mine was for medical and mental issues. I even heard the judge ask the psychologist if he thought I would improve in the short term and he answered no. I heard him say I wouldn't be reviewed for 3 years. I do not know my benefit amount for me and my 3 kids can I find that somewhere. What is also good is 17 months of backpay.
