Concussion and its effects on the sinuses

Hello,

I was wondering what, if any, effect a concussion could have on the sinuses? I recently had a sinus CT (5 weeks post concussion) and it showed inflamed sphenoids and ethmoids.

Is it possible to damage your sinuses from concussion? If so, does it die down with time? Can you damage your nose? (my CT report said I had a possible small bone fracture in my nostril, but the nose doc said that it looked good). I am finishing a round of prednisone and haven't seen much relief. I guess I am trying to see if there is indeed a link between inflamed sinuses and ear pressure (my main complaint).

I really don't know. What I do know is that I had continual sinus pain and also ear pressure. The sinus pain has gone completely, in particular when I was prescribed an SNRI. I just now have ear pain/pressure when I over exert myself, I don't know why this is so. So the approach is to do enough work/activity without causing myself physical pain. My advice would be for you to write down a list of questions for your doctor in preparation for your next visit, and try not to worry about your symptoms as this doesn't help recovery.
