I need a shower or a bath

Hi,
I last washed on Saturday. I need to shower or bathe in some fashion and I'm not up to it.
I want to sleep all day and stay up all night when there is nothing I can do.

I used to hate bathing in my old place, there was rust spots on the tub and I had a fear of it breaking with me in it so I wouldn't get washed up as frequently as I liked to. I don't think you need a bath daily, but my kid sure does....Hehehehe...But back to use adults, I don't get in the tub as easily as others can with the one leg and all, but I try to get in a couple times a week.

I sometimes used to just wash my hair and go as long as a week without bathing because of that darn tub...Now I have to wait until the kid is in bed so he's not trying to get IN with me, but man it's a chore to get clean, I totally empathize with you Mari. I hope you feel up to it tomorrow. Don't be too hard on yourself about it.

can you compromise and clean yourself with a towel and soap and water?
it is less stimulating

Just before it got dark, hubby drove me to the park and walked around the duck pond with me. I feel better now after the walk.

Yesterday the pdoc said my sleep problem is behavioral.
The therapist says the sleep problem needs meds.

Same story for two decades:
The therapist can't help if it is a med problem and the pdoc can't help if it is a behavioral problem.

I agree with bizi, it must be really frustrating for you Mari. I wish there was something you could do about the sleeping problem. I know how bad it is when you're not sleeping well. I used my cpap last night and thankfully got some good rest, but for most of this week I slept badly because of no door chains and anxiety about my son. What keeps you up? Have you tried melatonin before? What about elavil? I take both and they help a lot with sleeping. I wish we had an answer for you. :(

nighttime is freedom...no demands..no worries that somebody might call or your job might call...no pressure to clean up because you might make noise and wake somebody up...no noise,,,street usually quiet...if you had a lot of demands as a child and were robbed of your childhood, maybe you are seizing it back and making finally time for yourself. I don't get enough sleep...a lot of time I exist on three hours of sleep so i am constantly fatigued...with your schedule are you constantly fatiqued too? or do you catch up on sleep during the day

Mari - I sure hope you can get your sleep situation back to normal.

Does the p-doc give you anything for sleep? Are you depressed?

I know how it feels not to be able to sleep. I sleep now, but still wake up during the night a few times.

Yet, I am always tired, no motivation, I need to change that and fast.

Keep us posted....:Zzzz:

Take care, thinking of you......Nikko:hug:

Dear Pam,
I have noticed that place matters. We have too bathrooms now and I like one better than the other. It is easier to wash my hair and keep everything else dry. Getting in and getting out is a chore. And I have sympathy for you with extra challenges.

Dear Bobby,
Giving myself a spong kind of thing works sometimes. It depends on my issue. It certainly avoids the stimulation. But on the other hand it can feel like work and too much concentration invovled.

Dear Shiney Sue,
I kept thinking about your hose suggestion. Thanks.
It would solve some of my problem!
Maybe I can pretend that the shower is a hose and jump in, get wet, let the water run, and get out. I don't have to soap and clean. The water will do some of the job and it is better than no cleaning at all.
This kind of thinking in working. I showered two nights in a row--- extremely unusual for me.
