domains/sound but not together

I go to a different forum and yesterday when I tried to get on it said "Domain has expired" and later "Domain for *****is parked with online services". One other person I know of had issues but it seems like others had no problem. I did get on twice yesterday and should have asked but I didn't and cannot get on at all today. Does anyone know what is going on? I had a big Windows update yesterday morning.

Second question is I have no sound on Youtube videos, how can I watch the dancing cats that way?! I updated Adobe Flash to no avail. I saw a way to open something scary at start up and fix it. Is that the only solution?

thanks as usual,

judi

Hey Judi,
I have no idea about the expired domain problem, but with the sound in YouTube I wondered if you have checked in

Control Panel
Click on Hardware and Sounds
Click on Sounds and Audio Devices

Check your settings in Manage Audio Devices.

Make sure everything is plugged in correctly.
Check the sound button in the main window is not on Mute.

Also here's a link that Jo left here once on another thread.

I just deleted my post here because I found the Youtube problem. DUH...turn the volume up on the lower left of the video. I was trying to click on it, I didn't know you had to drag it.

thanks Lara, you motivated me to delve deeper instead of sitting around waiting for the computer fairy to fix it.

I'm glad you were able to fix it.

Got on the other site as well, other people had problems too so they must have had an issue.

It is a great computer mystery why I have been able to watch Youtube for years and never had to turn up the videos and now suddenly none of them seem to work unless I do. It is all a nefarious artificial intelligence plot to humiliate and embarrass me. :paperbag:

thanks again,
judi
