Can life get worst? Yes..

First my little town and all towns around are drown!

What's next?

MIL calls and FIL is not feeling right. DH and I go right over.

Right, not feeling right, dizzy, pain in chest, weak, pale, sweating, the list goes on... for over two hours cause he won't let her call 9-1-1!

What do you think it could be she asks? Could we drive him (in the flood) to the hospital?

I look at my DH and point to my heart and point to the phone.

Anyways, the Emt's where able to take a backroad to the hospital, airlift him to a larger hospital as he was having a massive heart attack and he is okay now!

We where able to take the MIL to the hospital north of us, but the freeway coming home south is close! That was a fun and dark ride both ways. Have you ever been on a freeway for 15 miles and been the only person? Now that was freaky!

I want to go back to bed and not come out until all this bad stuff goes away!
( Is that possible?)

AfterMyNap 12-05-2007 12:12 PM

yikes. Stubborn old cuss, tell MIL to be the boss of him and call 911 right away for any kind of trouble!

Glad he's okay, but what a nightmare. Hang on, you'll be back to your taffinatious old self in no time.

(stoooopid spellcheck, doesn't know a fine word when it sees one)

Man I can so relate to this!

My Dad is 84 and the last time he needed to call the EMTs he didn't because, "I didn't want to bother them at that time of night!" My 83 year old Mom was unconscious in the bathroom about 2am and he just put her back in bed. When they called my sister, who lives about 10 minutes away at 7am, my sister called the EMTs and they learned she was in a severe diabetic coma.

All is OK now but what the H was he thinking?????

Sheesh, Tappy Honey. What a downer. I'm so sorry about your FIL
and happy to hear that he is ok...WOW!

My DH...(God, I miss him) was always so considerate of me that when
he got sick he called 911 and took himself to the Hospital. I did take
him to the hospital on other occasions but he knew that I had not be
feeling well. (((((((((John)))))))))

Geez Taff~~ I'd say "when it rains, it pours", BUT that would really be a BAD choice of words. Glad you FIL will be ok, Men are so stubborn. Good thing you and DH went over and took matters into your own hands.

Sure hope he will improve and go home soon.

I have been keeping you and yours in my prayers. What a sad mess your poor town is in. Hang in there and know that we care.
OK, Tuffy!!! *thought you deserved that name, cuz you is one tuff chickie. Keep us posted..

*taking temp as no smart alec replies have been added to this post*

I am glad to hear that FIL is ok - I hope OK enuff to kick his little bee-hind so he doesn't pull that kind of stuff on you again. It's not just men that do that ...

A few years ago PODH's (did that just for you RW!) mom was here for a visit and had been experiencing chest pains. Did she tell anyone? Nope. Not even her husband. Evidently, as we learned later, this had been going on for about a month.

She had made an appointment with a new doctor whom she was going to see upon her return home the following week. But, during the week she was here visiting, we had been walking every morning (at that time my usual 5 miles), and going going going all day long. She never said a word about anything.

Upon her return home, she met with the new doc. He immediately admitted her to the cardiac intensive care unit and they did a quadruple heart bypass surgery on her the next morning. Doc says it was a miracle she was still alive. All her arteries were more than 85% blocked and one of them was completely blocked! Chest pains! The woman was nuts! PODH flew over there. He found out strictly by accident that she was in the hospital because a neighbor saw them at the hospital and called his brother.

PODH cancelled his trip and flew over there and surprised the heck out his parents. His mom was fit to be tied that we had found out she was in the hospital. Some people...I swear!

So, I hope you FIL recovers completely and that YOU, Miss Taffinatious (love that word!) get some rest and recover from all the weather that is happening to you over there!

Sorry about the flood problems and your FIL Taff! They really can be stubborn when they get up in years, take it from me! Thank goodness you were able to get him to the hospital. Try to rest, and hopefully things will be better tomorrow.

I remember one time when my dear old departed Dad was caught trying to walk out of the hospital in his long johns in sub-zero weather cause he wanted to go home. I loved him dearly but his behavior kept us on edge in his last few years!

Dear Taffy,
How horrific! I hope your father in law recovers quickly. I saw photos of Washington and Oregon on the news this morning. It looks like quite the mess. I hope everything gets better for you in a jiffy!

Be well, and be careful,

Chris

Taffy you are a strong person. To handle the problems that you have besides your own health. My prayers are with you and your family. I have been watching TV and the weather all over is going crazy. Don't know what this means. Hope everything is better with your father-in-law. You take care of yourself. This stress can really get you down. ----Joyce---

Well, they finally have a chuck of I-5 open for trucks only so that water and supplies can get out here to the smaller towns! Some of the smaller towns are on boil the water orders and are running out of food! Some of the farmers lost their livestock. Somewhere around 400 animals need to be buried!

Home Depot hopes to be open tomorrow in their parking lot to have supplies for the flood victims. Their store still has mud inside.

WalMart hopes to be up and running this weekend.

So many stores got it and mountains of carpet and  piled up now in their parking lots! So freaky!

It will be a while before this area comes back!
