Neuroprotective properties of Lions Mane mushroom

Lions Mane mushroom, hericium erinaceus, Japanese yamabushitake, is continually studied since 1991 for its neuroprotective properties, and its neurogenerative potentials.

This 2010 Huffington Post article, amongst others, proves of keen interest to many of us here in my own small geographic community here on the Gulf Coast South.

Many if not most of whom I know and am acquainted with here are of retirement age. We all have in common that we live happily here, albeit with some neurological ailments; and that none of us are 'pleased with nor happy with' our neurologist(s).

These folks are highly well-educated and savvy; have been doing their reading of journal articles, their own online research, and 'listening to' the suggestions, potentials and possibilities with adjunctive care, e.g. acupuncture, acupressure, shiatsu, diet/nutrition, aqua exercise, nutritional supplements /micronutrients ... and of all things, "mushrooms" are here mushrooming into peoples interest and pursuits.

In support, I have today placed an order for Lions Mane starter cultivation package, with a friend longdistance who has been cultivating mushroooms for over ten years now. I am unattached yet keenly interested in this cultivation project and to see what may become of this new adventure in mycology cultivation.

Meanwhile you may or may not be interested to read the Huffington Post article regarding Lions Mane mushroom.

This is the 6th time Lion's Mane has been mentioned here. Last time was just a few months ago.

There is an extract of the active ingredient available.
