Do You Have $$ You Didn't Know About?
I just posted in Social Chat about unclaimed funds. Even if you don't think you have money waiting for you, you might be surprised -- I was!! At the risk of repeating myself, check it out here:

Thanks for posting this. Of course I don't have one flat dime but my sister-in-law does but it doesn't say how much.

I have a claim, between 50 - 100 dollars, I'll take it. thanks.

Bearygood! I played around with it, my Dad (who passed on in 2002) was listed. Doubt it's much, but loved seeing his name in Print.

Thanks Beary!!! I looked and my wife had $650! I asked her for a finders fee...
|
Wow, TX! So far she's the jackpot winner! :D This is GREAT!! (And yes, you should definitely get a finder's fee, LOL!)

Bearygood,
I found dinero in both an old retirement account from the Unirversity of California and from both Federal and State refunds that were never sent to us. How can that be? I have to pay taxes every year, and...I had no idea that my checks from the University of California were being used to add to a retirement account at the time. Now for the kicker: I called the State, the IRS and the University of California about the money...and they said that there was no money. This sounds like a fun exercise for me to pursue. Thanks for the info. -Vic P.S. What is you finders fee?:) |
just a teeny fyi.
you fill out the form online. you will be mailed another sheet to fill out. there is a fee paid to the state to collect the money. you need to have original paperwork to collect. i have been trying to get moeny from 2 different insurance companies. one was my own auto insurance from the mod 90's. it is a $50 deposit. since i don't have a copy of the policy...they won't send the money. second one is an insurance check for $1200 from when our car got hit. th check is from the other person's insurance. the check was only good for 90 days. the repairs were going to cost more. the repair shop hounded the insurance company. the check expired. they refused to issue a new check. i have gone round and round with them for almsot 5 years. same thing. can;t get the money, i don't have the policy. neither does the person who hit the car. what sucks, is that i still have the original check. that is not considered proof. |
