cool

Makes me wonder if something could be made where you put in a list of all the winning lotto numbers that ever have been drawn and then singled out the very short list of probabilities for the winning numbers in the future.

;)

Before computers were so wonderfully advanced, in 1994 my dad was having his read us Bible Scripture (Psalms). That was our Bible study each evening.

Here's something that might interest you two about pain relief and virtual reality.

Pioneering Virtual Reality Pain Control

Quote:

Our logic for why VR will reduce pain is as follows. Pain perception has a strong psychological component. The same incoming pain signal can be interpreted as painful or not, depending on what the patient is thinking. Pain requires conscious attention. The essence of VR is the illusion users have of going inside the computer-generated environment. Being drawn into another world drains a lot of attentional resources, leaving less attention available to process pain signals. Conscious attention is like a spotlight. Usually it is focussed on the pain and woundcare. We are luring that spotlight into the virtual world. Rather than having pain as the focus of their attention, for many patients in VR, the wound care becomes more of an annoyance, distracting them from their primary goal of exploring the virtual world.

I have some more about VR and pain relief, but they're out of date links so I'll need to find them again before I post them.

I would think that during a flare up, placing yourself into VR for pain relief, while beneficial for some, would be kind of hard because even during a flare up, whether one day or two weeks, would be too long to keep yourself in VR.

Hope that made sense, little tired, was ill all day.

Great post though, and definitely worth a try, especially if it helps you through the next moment.

Oh Yeah!

I love reading about VR, as im a video game FANatic lol. I never had time for any kind of games before the RSD, but after the RSD came to be in my world so did the online games.

I was goin crazy at home with all the pain, and nuthin much on TV. So that is when I built my first personal computer. I built bunches of them for the casino when I was the network admin, but never owned one personally.

Two of my sons played this online game called Everquest, most people call it Evercrack because it so addicting. That is when I realized that gaming could get me to focus on other things besides pain. It distracted me just enough that the pain got put on the back burner.

I played that game for about 3 years, and one day Sony Online sent me an email with a beta test invite for Star Wars Galaxies. That was it I was sold, and have just passed my 4 year mark in that game.

When I first heard about the VR technology being used for pain, I knew they were on to something, but we dont have to wait for that lol. Find a online game that appeals to you and begin making friends, and losing reality for a while lol.

Here is another neat thing, albiet kinda scary that they think like this. I can see alot of potential abuse for this one.
