Pain Management course

Hi my name is Shelley, i'm 38 yrs old and mother of 3 teenagers and 2 toddlers. Two yrs ago i woke to extreme pain that seemed to come from everywhere. Taken to the hospital and drugged up on endone for a couple of months because our small country hospital wouldn't or couldn't do anything.
6 months later payed for private neuro surgeon and private pain management specialist to find out disc in 5-6 had fallen back into spinal column and was causing all kinds of issues. Had surgery 6 mths later than this so now up to 12mths pain to have new disc inserted and told cant fix nerve damage, so stick to gabapentin, 2 tablets 3 times a day. Surgery didnt work was now falling forward, was told if started to have an impact on my breathing race to hospital..... then was back in surgery 2 mths later for bigger disc that they screwed in so had no chance of falling out now,,,,,woohoo,,,,, feeling like the bionic woman on drugs and having put on extra 30 kilos i felt like it was time to get off my butt and stop taking drugs and get my fitness back, as i am nearly up to 2 yrs now. Well to my shock, going to a pain manage course isnt as easy as getting a referal from your dr. The pain management dr pretty much said i was to emotional at this time to start the course and not yet physically prepared. I have another appointment this week to see what he has to say about meds, fitness and emotions. Something he didnt ask is my so emotional,,,,,,, my 16 yr old daughter ran away that monday,,,,, because is a brat but also is alot for 16 yr old to put up with i guess, mum sick and school. So any way will keep you posted.
Thanks for reading Shelley.

Hi Shelly

My name is Melody and I want to say "hi, and welcome".

you are dealing with pain AND A TEENAGER?? Holy Cow. I have no idea which is worse.

You have a sense of humor. A great sense of humor.

It will get you through this.

How are things with your daughter going?

Did she come home?

Take care, and keep reading. Others will come and guide you to the correct forums. I just wanted to say I admire you.

Melody
