In the process of applying gor disability

I have read a lot of great info and advice on here but im still so intimated and stressed about filling out the two huge envelopes full of medical questions an 15 years of job history. Im working with keefe Law and they said to just do my best to answer the questions like it was easy. I don't remember the dates and info for all of my jobs and the questions about my daily life and what I cant to seems so impossible to write down. My whole world revolves around my polyneuropathy and fibromyalgia. I don't even know where to begin.
Things seem to be going good..they received my application on may 1st and I have already received more paperwork from them. Im sure im not the first person to be completely over whelmed by the process. If any one has any advice or anything I would be very grateful to hear it.

Check out the sticky, "before you start your claim", it has lots of good info.

be sure to get someone who knows what they are doing to help you fill out the forms when applying for benefits. there is a right and wrong way to do that. considering that 75% of all claims are denied and it's most likely going to end up before a Judge, you want to make sure you do not "self sabotage" your case like most people do. too many people think this is easy and they can handle it. *admin edit*

The right way to fill out forms is honestly and thoroughly.

To the OP, perhaps you can make a rough draft and focus first on the obvious questions, that you can answer easily.

On the Vocational Report, they are looking for your skill sets. It doesn't really matter that you were a waiter at six different restaurants or a teacher at two private and one public school or vet assistant at a kennel and at an urban and rural vet hospital. Look at your work history broadly. This is not a resume.

Spend a little time every couple hours to answer a question or two on the daily activities. Work on this over several days. If you break it into small pieces, you will get it done.

Great advice !

The process can be overwhelming, Cass. As Janke suggested, break it up into smaller portions. If you type out the responses on the computer, you can cut and paste, or add more pertinent info when you think of it.

Plan for this to take YEARS, then be happy if you can get your approval sooner. Best of luck that this goes smoothly and quickly for you.
