Hello new to the group

Hello, I am in Arizona
and diagnosed with a brain disorder-chiari malformation, tethered spinal cord and connective tissue disorder
, recently a family member was also diagnosed with a brain disorder-alzheimers, so, I am always open to learning all I can,
my child has been showing signs of Chiari- I remember when my symptoms began and mine started with blurry vision, dizziness, and the numbness of my arms/legs. She is telling me she is having that now! Her brain MRI will be in a few days and until we receive the results back, I will be trying not to worry or overthink the outcome.

Thank u for everyone's kind welcome!

THANK U for everyone's kindness in welcoming me to neurotalk
and helping me find my way to the correct areas , I have a difficult time with comprehension, following directions at times, and may need some "gentle reminding/guidance!" as I may have been posting to the wrong area! I find navigating computers/websites to be very challenging, since my brain disorder came on.

Hello csinfo and welcome to NeuroTalk. Sorry about the Chiari DX and the stress you are feeling worrying about your child's symptoms. My niece has Chiari's and so I see firsthand the trouble it gives her.

I'm glad you found us, and just take your time getting used to this place. It's BIG, but everyone is so friendly and helpful. I see our Abbie has already given you some directions, but don't hesitate to ask if you need help w/anything. Keep us posted on how your daughter makes out w/her MRI.

Hi, csinfo! :Wave-Hello: Welcome to NeuroTalk!

I'm sorry to learn about your daughter's symptoms, we never want to hear that kind of news. I'm just so thankful that she has a mom who knows and understands that these issues are real and that medical intervention is needed now.
