4 days post-op C 5/6, 6/7 ACDF

Hi Guys!

It is day 4 post-op, and am doing fairly well. My neuro used "cages" between vertebrae instead of bone, and a plate. He told me since he used so much metal, I do not need to wear any collar at all. Swallowing is still difficult, but throat isn't sore. Bad spasms and pain between shoulder blades, decreasing daily. Sleeping well, but waking up quite swollen under chin, and around neck. The incision looks good, no redness or seeping, and no fever or any other signs of infection.
Thanks for your support,
Dave :)

Good to see such a positive report at only 4 days! I'll be interested to see how you do with cages vs. my donor bone. My big problem is spasms right now. Take care. take it easy, and keep us posted.

Glad to hear you are doing so well

Great to hear that you are doing so well. Just remember you had MAJOR surgery and do not do too much. You only have 1 neck and you need to be kind to it.
