Headaches from Pillow
I tend to have trouble staying asleep and sometimes falling asleep so I move a lot changing the position of my head. I do this as much as 30 times a night but lately i've been waking up with a headache in my forehead. I've never had this before but it goes away usually after a day or two. I was wondering if it's possible that repeatedly changing positions on a pillow can cause headaches or if it's maybe from something else. Thanks for any replies.

You might find things improve if you had a proper neck pillow.
You might also want to mention your restlessness to your doctor. You might benefit from medication for sleep. |
I can't speak to your forehead head aches but I do think you need to find a solution to your sleep disturbances. Do you know if you snore ? Could you have sleep apnea ?
Have you tried changing the fabrics (sheets, pajamas, nightgown, etc) to find a combination with a soothing tactile sensation ? Have you experimented with different mattresses or mattress toppers ? Sleep is a big issue for me. I take Neurontin (gabapentin) to help my body relax and not have body jerks. I also sleep in only cotton. I also need a complex carb before bed to give my body the energy to sleep. btw, Sleep requires energy because it is a time where the brain is busy. Do you move in your sleep because you are not comfortable ? |
