Muscle Twitches
 

I have muscle twitches throughout my body, mostly on my legs, upper arms and torso. Lately I've also had them under my eye. The twitches have gotten noticeably worse in the last several months as my pain has been worse.

These twitches have been going on since I first developed TOS more than 11 years ago. However, today when I reported it to my doctor he literally leapt out of his seat and peered into my face then examined my arms and legs. Of course, my muscles were not twitching then. But he's referring me to a neurologist to see if I need a full work up. I had a brain MRI years ago to rule out MS and it was clear.

Does anyone else have these twitches? Any insights?

I get those muscle twitches, on and off, at various times, every once in awhile. For me, they might last a couple of days, and then they go away. I think it might be when I stretch a muscle, or nerve, past it's comfort zone and it kind of freaks out.

I have similar symptoms. Came on after the onset of TOS. Neurologist refer to mine as bfs or benign fasiculation syndrome. Worse during times of anxiety but not harmful. Just annoying.

Yes, I have them in my legs too. Yes, it is supposed to only be in the upper body, but th knee bone is connected to the thigh bone....

My physical therapist demonstrAted this by pushing hard on my pectoral minor while testing the strength in my leg on that side. Laying down I was to hold up th leg while she pressed down on my leg. Just the act of pressing down on the spec minor muscle made significant
difference in the strength of the leg.

Botox is often prescribed for eye twitching. Often insurance covers this. :)

My doctor was really concerned when I reported the muscle twitches and referred me to a neurologist, but I really don't want to go back down that road. I had EMG/NCV tests years ago, as well as MRIs of my brain and spine to rule out MS. Everything was normal, except for the MRI of my brachial plexus.

Based on what people have said here, I think I'm going to trust my gut and not go down the neurological testing path again, especially since I don't see how it will change or expand treatment options.

Like others, I get these as well. They seem benign. Sometimes if I fix my posture, do a stretch, change the position of my shoulder girdle, etc. they go away. Sometimes not.
