Statins are bad news

""If you deprive cholesterol from the brain, then you directly affect the machinery that triggers the release of neurotransmitters," said Shin. "Neurotransmitters affect the data-processing and memory functions. In other words -- how smart you are and how well you remember things.""

Mere coincidence?

I have read that many people taking statins also develop ALS AFTER beginning to take them...mere coincidence? I don't think so, IMHO.

I think my new dr is going to push for me to take statins :(
...total chol 300+.
high chol # runs in both sides of my family - I think only 1 relative in the late 1940s died from straight heart attack. The other had a combination of health issues.

I took Lipitor from 03 to 05 -took my numbers down to 245 but I felt much better after quitting it.
Had total brain fog and extra muscle pain.

Grandmother had 300+ chol # and lived to be 94 but her last 5 yrs she had complete Alzheimer's.
