Lyrica . A withdrawal question
Hi , Been struggling with this for sometime . It's been hell. Anyway been tapering down for months and decided to jump off deep end today and stop . Been feeling flu like . Lot's of head pressure sinus problems and seems to have triggered allergic rhinitis which I did not have for years . Anyone recognise this? Still having muscles stiffness and joints particularly neck and thoracic region.
Thanks Nick |
Yes, it sounds like many shopping lists of Lyrica (and other typical) withdrawal symptoms, e.g.:
Lyrica Withdrawal Symptoms + Duration Looking back at your posts, you had been taking Lyrica for three months when your doctor advised you to taper off of it. It's now been FOUR months that you've been tapering—longer than you were taking it (at the time) to begin with. This is just an observation—not criticism or judgment—but it is a little disconcerting. Just a couple of rhetorical questions.... Do you think it's about time to have a SERIOUS discussion with your doctor(s) about this? If you think/feel this doctor isn't taking this/you seriously or isn't doing enough to help you, do you think it's time to make a change? Quote:
It's also possible (and likely, IMO) that these are ALL just temporary withdrawal symptoms, and will resolve—in time—as your body acclimates to not having the Lyrica present. Doc |
The Lyrica question.

Thanks Doc for your link and observations. When you have so must going on it's easy to loose your way. I am seeing 3 Docs at the moment , yes three and all of them seem a bit clueless about this drug and keep on passing me on to another Doc. Even the specialists don't offer much . I think in some cases they are afraid not to follow the party line . Indeed my first doc , who on first seeing her was a bit dismissive admitted recently that she had been afraid for me as at that time I was jerking about all over , could barely speak and found it difficult to swallow amongst other things. I am due to see another next week who tends to think this drug is as harmless as sweets. Will have to be a bit more forceful , but it's hard when your feeling down. Regards Nick |
