This is GREAT for people with Arthritis

Hi All.

I have Osteoarthritis and it's very hard, when I wash clothes, to wring them out. I don't have a washer and a dryer, and I bring my white things to the laundromat, but there are items I simply have to hand wash.

I have been looking hi and lo for a clothes wringer. I looked and I looked (I would have settled for those hand wringers that people used at the turn of the century, where you just pull the clothes through two rolling things and you turn the crank and the water is squeezed out, BUT I COULDN'T EVEN FIND ONE OF THOSE.

So after much searching, I found my new miracle.

I went here:

http://www.simplygoodstuff.com/mini_dryer.html

I purchased it, it came the other day, and I have been in heaven ever since. I did my shirts, my undies, Alan's shirts, (the exact same thing I've been washing by hand for years), but now I don't have to place these items between the towel, and have Alan hold one end, while i turn the towel round and round to squeeze all the water out.

No more!!

I went to youtube and typed in SPIN DRYER.

I watched a demo and it sold me.

I then went to (see above link), bought it and the rest is history.

You have no idea HOW THIS SAVED MY HANDS AND MY ARMS.

The clothes come out just damp. I hang them up over my bathtub on a tension rod, but if I had a backyard, I would use a clothesline, especially in this kind of weather, but I don't have a back yard, so I have to hang stuff over my tub.

THIS MAKES LIFE SO MUCH EASIER.

If I had known about this I would have purchased this item YEARS AGO.

I don't know how long it will last but even if I get a year out of it (It does appear sturdy so I'm not worried), but holy cow, ALL THE WATER COMES OUT OF THE DRAIN HOSE, and no more wringing.

Best thing I ever did for my hands.

Just wanted to share.

It was my pleasure.

Want to hear something funny? I am the ONLY PERSON that I know who does not have a washing machine, a dryer, and a dishwasher. Never had one of those things.

And when I told my friend that I wash some of my clothes and hang them over the bathtub, she said "you do WHAT???", are you serious, you don't have a washer and a dryer??"

Oh, I'm so deprived!!!! NOT. I'm just happy to have a roof over my head, a clean house, and my own food.

I'm like the Amish. I wash my dishes, wash my clothes. I grow my own sprouts in my kitchen.

What's next? I might milk some cows!!!

lol lol lol

Melody, you are a treasure! If you're not already married, I'm sure you'll be snatched up in a heartbeat!!! Any man would be GRATEFUL to have you as his wife!!! I guess I'm just a spoiled brat, cause I have to have a washer/dryer. I don't have a dishwasher tho. Wish I did. LOL.

Isn't it amazing how reliant we have become on the "electric world?" Thinking about how many electric appliances I have in the house, I'm amazed. I even have an electric bread maker!!! LOL. Good grief. My poor grandmother would roll over in her grave. lol

You make me feel ashamed of myself. LOL. I wish I was more like YOU. God bless, and take care. Hugs, Lee ;)

Thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated.

I did another little wash this morning. Took me all of 5 minutes. I then used my new spin dryer and in one minute flat, the clothers were only damp.

I cannot believe how this thing does it's thing. It's like having your own extractor. It spins so fast, all the water comes out.

And they have a bigger, faster model, for $155.00. I would think that if one had more than two people in the house and did not have a washing machine, the $155 model would be a better alternative. But this one is just perfect for me and my husband.

It's big enough to drop 3 blouses, a bra and two pairs of shorts. And BINGO, all the water goes into my sink.

I actually have an extractor in my house.

And I do depend on electricity a lot also. I only have air conditioning in my bedroom. Not in the other rooms. But we have fans. I have cable, and a computer and a microwave, so they are all electric run too.

I don't know what will happen if, in 2012, the solar flares actually hit and we lose all electricity, but at least I'll be able to grow my sprouts and all I need for that is water.

So at least we'll eat!!!

lol
