PCS update

I feel that I have gotten much better over the past 2 weeks. (it's been 2 1/2 months since my accident.) I still get headaches now and then, but they are lessened with tylenol. I have some bouts still with nausea.

However, the ringing in my ears seems to have gotten louder. I still get dizzy, when I get up or spin around to fast, but it is less frequent now.

IMy memory issues have not changed. Even typing this was difficult-I can't seem to spell words or sometimes I transpose them. I also still have trouble recalling words or remembering what I just said or want to say. This is very frustrating. I only like to speak to people face to face, that way they know I am just looking for words, and aren't frustrated because it's taking me too long to say things. and they don't know why.

It seems that the later in the day it is, the more these symptoms increase.I have been on vacation (school) this week and feel better. I go back to my kindergartners and I am sure that some of the symptoms will return.
Thank you for letting me share.

tmq,

I use the screen as my memory. I type as fast as I can then I reread it to fix spellings and transpositions and refresh my mind about my thoughts. My visual (typed out) memory becomes my cognitive memory. I just accept that this is the way my brain works and use it.

It works so I don't fret about my poor immediate memory skills.

If your kids can deal with your struggle to find words, don't worry too much about the adults. You are not going to change the adults but your kids are learning great life skills.

Hope you have a good back to school day.

My best to you.
