Spinal Cord Compression

I have MRI results with c-4/c-5 compression that twists on hemicord
I really do not have pain though... mainly rt side is numb, tingling,,, quite weak,, have a hard time typing, opening doors, walking--burning in rt ankle, foot and lower leg
Neurosurgery appt Wednesday feels like a waist of time...
I have MRI results... they are quite long..

Any comments, suggestions appreciated

I'm not sure what you are asking here, but then I am a bit on the thick side Jonlyn ;)

No harm in going along to the Neuro appointment and see what they have to say, never a waste of time, they may have something positive up their sleeves for you eh.

Let us know how you get on, Wingy

Hello Jonlyn!

I'm wondering if your Dr is wanting to do Spinal DE-compression on you? If so, that's what my Dr has suggested. I know that most chiropractors will do non-surgical decompression, but maybe your Dr is wanting to go in with a needle to release pressure within your compressed discs. ?
My Dr is from another country and hard to understand, so I'm having to do my own research on what he's suggesting to me.
Do you have a spinal cord stimulator? If so, that may pose a concern as to whether this could mess with your electrode leads.

I agree - go to the apt and make sure they speak clearly of their intent and side effects, etc.

let us know what happens!

Hello Rae,

What does a spinal cord stimulator do?
Does it relieve the pain or does it stimulate the cord to do its job, what ever that may be?
