September...time for a new thread!

September 1st was labor day.
WE went to a friends house for a gathering that they had. A cook out and pot luck, WE brought 3 pounds of broccoli and pecan salad($25). IT was good. Jeff and I ate a late lunch because we knew he was fixing kebobs which are low calorie and we are big eaters. WE went over there at 4 and did not eat until 6. The hostest wss serving margaritas and kept my glass full. Needless to say I was tipsy before the evening was thru. It was fun and we were joking around the woman and such, it was fun socializing and not feeling awkward, margaritas loosen me up . We left around 9 and then I started drinking water at home, watched downton abbie and continued drinking water until bed time at midnight. I really thought that i was going to sleep well. and dodge a hang over. Wrong...I could not sleep so at 145am I took an extra klonipin which usually does the trick. Nope....my alarm was set for 8 am so switched it to 9am...I don't know when I finally got to sleep but I moved my morning appointment to afternoon and went back to bed. I finally got up at 1030. made a smoothie and got ready for work. It has been a good day. Saw 3 clients this afternoon. Had a good dinner of lemon pepper baked cod. and steamed califlower with some parmesan cheese. and some watermelon. I missed the sandras crowd for lunch and the smoothie kept me full until dinner. Which amazed me.
I am so behind in my charting, some how I must tackle that this evening just get started maybe set a timer see how much I can get done in an hour.

I am so surprised its September already. I sure hope life starts to
look up. Its time for some pain to go away.

I am working on that. Donna :grouphug:

I can't believe it's September either... scary thought.

Anyway, Bizi, you're off to a good start: good food and some socializing. :) You did well reorganizing the day. That's necessary sometimes.

My brain is still stuck on the foods...

Lemon pepper baked cod sounds great.

Broccoli pecan salad sounds interesting... what else goes in that? I might like to try it. We don't get pecans here, though. Do you think walnuts could work, or would almonds be a better substitute?

Happy September, Bizi,

I like hearing from you.

Thanks you guys.:)
yes almonds would be better than walnuts I think waves. then you use a bit of mayo. There is some sweetness but don't know how they achieved that. maybe just plain sugar? mixed into the mayo?
they blanched the broccoli first just ever so quickly to soften it up a bit or so it seemed or maybe it sat a while with the dressing to soften the broccoli????
Make it a great day.
sorry for your pain issues donna. ((((HUGS))))

I was able to do an hour and a half of paper work, probably 3 hours left will tackle some more this evening. I used head phones to listen to some easy music with out bothering jeff and had the fan on as I was feeling hot. I also chewed gum to keep my mouth busy. At 1030 we stopped what we were doing, jeff practicing classical guitar and me paper work to watch downton abbey. I had one black cherry mikes hard lemonade as a treat and it was perfect. one satisfied me and I slept well! yeah!

Cool. We have mayo right now but it isn't opened.... when we open it I can try this. I might skip the sweetening... not too into sweet. Dunno, I might try with a little honey. The broccoli had to be blanched as mayo wouldn't soften it. I experimented with doing broccoli in the microwave, but I don't like how it turns out -- it stays greener and tastes better blanched. Cauli works out great in the microwave. I always do it in there. Weird, huh.

so much for moderation.
3 in an hour and it is 6;30 and before dinner...I am tippsy to say the least, jeff won't be home for another 45 minutes. I had some nuts to snack on but that did not satisfy me. so started drinking.
sigh

one left and it will be gone. so that is good won't go out and buy any more.

It's ok, Bizi. You've shown that you can do moderation.

Yes, don't buy any more just yet. That black cherry hard lemonade sounds really, really good/tempting.... hard to sit on a stash of that without indulging. ;)

I am supposed to work today.
