Well my 3 days of IVSM are over

Now I'm in the sit and wait phase. It went well today. Best thing was that I kept my IV for 3 days. I normally don't.

Are you having a taper? I hated those darn pills. Get well soon.

doydie 08-17-2011 09:38 PM

No taper, GRRRRRR. The first couple of days were difficult but I'm OK now. As far as results, my vision is unchanged. As long as I am wearing my glasses I am OK. If I'm not wearing them then all I see out of my left eye looks like heirographics. I saw an eye doctor today. I had known that I have catatracts. That makes me seem old! Old people get cataracts, I'm only 61. He said they weren't mature enough to take out yet. Well after almost an hour pearing into my eye he said that the cataract is the culprit! So I have to find out who my insurance covers and then call the nice doctor and he will make the referall! I don't know if I want to allow myself the belief that cataract surgery may clear this. Was the IVSM even needed. I know I had SEVERE pain in my eye but I had noticed a difference in my vision before this happened.

My dad worked outside all of his life and had cataract surgery in his 70s when it was first being done decades ago. It was miraculous to him the difference it made. It lasted over 20 years but they started to form again in his late 80s. Thank goodness this is such an easy surgery to do and pretty much outpatient as well. I hope it helps you to see better quickly.

Doydie, dear ... my friend, Carol, (54) .. had to have her cataracts worked on - it wasn't laser ... but, hers were 'crackled' and they were able to fix her vision ... I'll find out more and get back to you!

sometimes, it's just the area you're in or heritage-line that you have the eye issues ... hope you are doing well ... patience!! :o
