a little computer help, please

I'm not sure if it's just me ... just my computer ... or luck of the draw. But I'm still confused about how to use NeuroTalk.

Case in point ... I have to refresh every single time that I log on and/or if something new has been added. Do any of you have to do that as well?

I am also confused on the choices of "thanks," "a quote," or "quick reply". With the exception of thanks, what is the difference between them?

If I try to search for something that I have contributed in some fashion or another, I hit the Search this Thread or Search this Forum arrow and it seems to hit or miss posts of mine. What am I doing wrong?

Lastly, Dale ... it's even funnier ... but did you know that all of your posts, even the previous ones, get changed to the mood you chose TODAY! The "amused" mood is now added to any and all of my posts. So much for changing my moods hourly. A guy must have designed it. :D

Terri,

I hit Quote to start this reply. Your original post is included in shaded blue. I don't know what the difference between Post Reply and quick reply is, if any.

I don't have to hit refresh to get the last posts. It could be your computer or the software that you are using for your browser.

The information on the left of each post, Name, location, number of posts, etc, the signature, and now the mood is printed with the current information, not what it was when the message was posted so will change whenever any of the items change and will appear for all posts that you have made regardless of when it was posted. Hope that helps explain it.

Don't know about the Search question. I have usually found what I was looking for but it could have mised some that I didn't know about.

If it is backwards to the way a woman thinks then it was probably written by a man!! THat is not to say which is correct however :) .

I might be able to help.

1)You need to change your browser settings so that it will automatically refresh every time you visit a web page. Go to start...then control panel...then internet options...click on browser history settings tab...choose refresh every time I visit....click ok

By the way, if you are using internet explorer 6 or above you should be able to refresh the page by simply hitting the F5 key on your keyboard.

2)The thanks tab will allow you to simply thank someone for posting a message without actually posting a reply to say thanks.

The quote tab will plsce the message you are replying to in a quotation box inside your reply to that message.

the quick reply will allow you to post a reply without the frills of having to name it or give a title for it.

3)In order to get better search results on what you are looking for, choose the advanced search features tab. In the advanced search you can choose to search by topic or by name or by key word and you can choose the dates that you want to search.
